DANCERS

Dying Swan

Through expressive arm movements symbolizing life and death and smooth floating legwork that looks as if the dancer is truly in water, the piece’s minimal choreography paints a vivid portrait of a dying swan. Originally choreographed for legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova, the work was initially sealed “out of respect for the piece” though it was later performed by Maya Plisetskaya.

Shoko Nakamura
Japan's leading prima ballerina, famous for her beautiful lean legs and charismatic stage presence, she has cultivated an unparalleled physical and expressive facility.
